The Hole in the Wall Walking Group

The group, founded in 1991 was originally of HSBC employees, now retired and with the addition of family and friends.

We walk on alternate Fridays throughout the year, normally meeting about 9:45 and starting to walk at 10:00, pausing en-route for coffee and ending at one of our region’s fine hostelries for luncheon.

Walks are usually in the region of 5 miles, and convenient for members mostly based in Sheffield & Chesterfield.

Typical group size on a walk is around a dozen although the membership list is rather more extensive and includes some “armchair walkers” who are still able to join us for occasional social events.

The group’s logo/image is the cover of our log book which has suffered the ravages of time (beer spillage?).

2016 was a special year for us, 25 years since the group started. The anniversary was marked with a celebration lunch at Hassop Hall on Friday 13 May.
